Made for iPhone Hearing Aids

With the huge pervasiveness of smartphones and the constant improvement in hearing aid technologies, it was inevitable for hearing aid and smartphone manufacturers to marry their respective technologies for the greater good of those with hearing loss.

Recently two hearing aid manufacturers introduced what’s being lauded as revolutionary technology that moves your grandfather’s hearing instruments into the 21st century with a bang and an app. Now convenience is at your fingertips with the ability of the wearer to adjust the sound directly from their iPhone, iPad and iPod.

Starkey has launched Halo, while ReSound launched LiNX. They are engineered to work with your Apple devices, allowing you to stream your voice calls, Face Time calls, music, videos and more, directly to your hearing aids using Bluetooth. All this without the nuisance of background noise and buzzing sounds.  Both hearing aids are compatible with the iOS 7.1 operating system that powers:

  • iPhone 5s
  • iPhone  5c
  • iPhone  5
  • iPhone 4s
  • iPad Air
  • iPad (4th Generation)
  • iPad Mini and iPad Mini with retina display
  • iPod Touch (5th Generation)

Starkey’s Halo iPhone compatible hearing aids work seamlessly with the TruLink Hearing Control App, which allows you to make adjustments to suit your listening needs. These hearing aids have a geo-tagged memories feature, which switches modes based on your location, like for home or work.

Lost your hearing aid? Not to worry, with the TruLink app you can look up the last place a signal was received from your hearing aid.

The Halo is built durable with its HydraShield®2 nano-coating that repels water and wax.

ReSound’s LiNX hearing aids have many of the same features, turning a patient’s hearing aid into a set of stereo headphones. The LiNX is water resistant and can accommodate 90% of all hearing losses.

Just like Starkey’s Halo hearing aid, ReSound’s LiNX hearing aid gives you the convenience to stream the sound of your voice and Face Time calls, along with personalization at your fingertips on your smartphone. The LiNX also gives you the benefit of geo-tagging.

So at the end of the day it depends on which of these iPhone compatible hearing aids are best for you and your needs.
